AMERICAN TURKISH BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL CYRUS REPRESENTATION OPENED WITH A CEREMONY HELD IN GAU

Cyprus Office of American Turkish Business Development Council, of which the presidency was taken over by Serhat Akpınar, the Founding Rector of GAU, was opened today at GAU.

The Council members of the board of directors, representatives of the Mediterranean Journalist , GAU Academic and Administrative Staff attended the opening which was held in the GAU Health Sciences Building Hall and American Turkish Business Development President, Uğur Terzioğlu was the president.

Visiting Ambassador, DMW President of Cyprus, Cyprus Representation Administrative Board and Council which will be established under the leadership of Serhat Akpınar, the American Turkish Business Development Council Turkey Advisory Board Member, will work for the elimination of economic borders in the ongoing solution in Adana together with  public and private sector organizations that share the same goals in their activities in Cyprus, Universities, think-tanks and Non-Governmental Organizations. 

American Turkish Business Development Council Chairman, Serhat Akpınar said in his speech: “American Turkish Business Development Council was established to develop sustainable partnerships and subsidiaries in the USA and Turkey in order to support people, ideas and business life. Therefore, the founders of the Association from both countries came together. The ATBD Council is naturally accredited to its progress strategy, not only in traditional ways, such as meetings, conferences and seminars, but also in the broad connection possibilities of personal initiatives to create new opportunities for bilateral trade and investment”.

Akpınar said, “Together with the public and private sector institutions, universities, think-tanks and non-governmental organizations that share the same goals in their work in Cyprus, the Cyprus Office, of which I’m the head, will make efforts for activities that can contribute to the elimination of the economic borders in ongoing solution process on the island. We set out with a team that will not only ensure that American brands and businesses meet with the people of Cyprus but also lead opinion leaders and cooperation necessary for American companies to invest in North Cyprus. I thank our President Uğur Terzioğlu, our prominent mentor, who has made it possible for us to be here, who is a doyen and who has assumed an important role in the allocation of Turkey and US relations with his valuable and great experience for many years, for he has dreamed  and supported such an opening. We are taking an very important step for the TRNC.

Uğur Terzioğlu, the founder and president of the American and Turkish Business Development Council said in his speech: “Many years ago there were a lot senior people in a meeting in America. Serhat Bey and I decided to open the representation office of our council in the Turkish Cypriot part. Then, the Minister of Foreign Affairs was also there and he thanked us for such an initiative. We explained what we wanted to do both on the Turkish side and on the American side and they supported us. Suddenly we started to lay foundations for something that hadn’t been thought before. A great organization, a great solidarity and the people who have proved it… I’ll always wait for your support.

Serhat Akpınar presented his plaque to Uğur Terzioğlu, the Founding President and Chairman of American Turkish Business Development Council. After the speeches, the members of the Council and GAU administration opened the Cyprus Representation Office of American Turkish Business Development Council.
